Sunlake Capital and Partner Firms Make Fourth Contract Security Industry Investment with Acquisition of SSA Security Group
February 23, 2021 - Sunlake Capital LLC (“Sunlake”), in Partnership with Mangrove Equity Partners, L.P. (“Mangrove”), is pleased to announce its fourth investment in the U.S. contract security industry with the acquisition of SSA Security Group (“SSA”). SSA is a leading provider of security services on the West Coast, focusing on vehicle patrol in select neighborhoods to both residences and commercial properties. The company’s vehicle patrol services are staffed by off-duty law enforcement officers, a segment of the security market where Sunlake's contract security platform, PPS, has unique specialization and significant success driven by market demand and clients' desire to staff armed functions with highly-trained law enforcement officers.
The owners and management team will continue to lead SSA and will be a force multiplier for the PPS team. The investment SSA marks the start of expansion to the West Coast market, where demand for private security is rapidly increasing.
PPS is actively seeking acquisitions of like-minded contract security providers to support its growth in new and existing geographies.
